Johnie Brown

Johnie Brown, 90, of Eudora, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at his residence. He was born on August 29, 1924 in Kilbourne, Louisiana to John and Emily Stephenson Brown. Mr. Brown was a United States Army Veteran. He was a former owner of the Chevrolet Dealership in Eudora for several years. Mr. Brown was a cotton and cattle farmer and did custom harvesting. He loved to play Rook and dominoes. In his later years he enjoyed bird watching. Mr. Brown was a member of Omega Baptist Church, where he was a deacon for many years. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Brown; four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary Dell Brown of Eudora, Ark.; sons, Billy Brown (Joy) of Lake Village, AR, John Brown (Sandy) of Brookshire, Texas, Tommy Brown (Rhonda) of Eudora, Ark., James Brown (Jolene) of Eudora, Ark., and Carl Brown of Bicknell, Ind.; daughters, Mary Huff of Eudora, Ark., Hazel Brown of Eudora, Ark., and Lois Ashley (David) of Kilbourne, La.; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2015, at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in Eudora, Ark. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2015 at Omega Baptist Church in Eudora, Ark. with Rev. Billy West officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Eudora, Ark.
