Cecil Avan Rolland

Mr. Cecil Avan Rolland, age 93, of Forrest City, died Sunday at the Craighead Nursing Center in Jonesboro. He had been in poor health for the past several years. Mr. Rolland was born November 10, 1921, in Vanndale, Arkansas, and was the son of Marel Rolland and Emma Arlene Hodges Rolland. He lived in Wynne until moving to Forrest City in 1953. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas, was an insurance agent for Jackson National Life and worked for Metropolitan Life for many years. He was a Veteran of World War II, U.S. Army, a member of the Life Underwriters Association, a member of the Ridgewood Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Mr. Rolland married Ivonette Crownover in 1947, and she preceded him in death in 2003. He is survived by one daughter, Amy Rolland of Wynne, one son, Kim Rolland, and wife, Karen, of Widener, one sister, Kathleen Snellgrove of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, four grandchildren; David, Lisa, Kristin, and Dustin, and six great-grandchildren. He had one granddaughter, Lauren Rolland, four brothers; Robert, Gerald, Roger, and Harold, who all preceded him in death. Services for Mr. Rolland will be held at the Ridgewood Baptist Church, 10 a.m., Friday, with burial in Forrest Park Cemetery.
