James Robert Freeman

James Robert Freeman, 76, of White Hall, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015. Born in Dumas, Arkansas on August 22, 1938, he was the son of the late Gilma Watt Freeman and Lillian Witt Freeman. He grew up in White Hall attending schools there and graduated from White Hall High School. He also attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. James was a member of White Hall United Methodist Church. Employed by International Paper Company for many years, a dream came true when he established his own business, Dent Out, in 1992. He enjoyed working in it for over 20 years. James had a passion for building and repairing most anything. He designed and built a home on Lake Chicot several years ago and found happiness in entertaining family and friends on the lake. He especially enjoyed having his granddaughters, nieces and nephews at the lake, teaching them about boating, fishing and water sports. Survivors include his wife, Faye Hager Freeman to whom he was married over 50 years; a son, James R. Freeman Jr. and his wife, Margaret Davis Freeman of Franklin, North Carolina; a sister, Marynell Cardin York and her husband, Tom of White Hall; two granddaughters, Laura Freeman of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Bess Freeman of Franklin, North Carolina. A memorial service celebrating James' life will be held at White Hall United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Margaret Davis Freeman and the Reverend Ben Crismon officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service. Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
