Joan Marlene Bruner

On the evening of June 20, 2015, Joan Marlene Spurr Bruner, 69, of Bryant, Ark, our Nana, went home to be with the Lord. She spent her last moments surrounded by family and so much love. Joan was born in St. Louis Mo. to Jack and Alma Spurr, Sr. She married Jerry L. Bruner Sr. in Little Rock, Ark. on December 17, 1966 and they both came to know Christ as their personal Savior in the summer of 1968. Our Nana loved to get together with her family. Christmas time was her favorite because it always meant a large gathering. Those who knew Joan knew her life was devoted to her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Alma Spurr, Sr., husband, Jerry L. Bruner, Sr., son-in-law Bradley W. Marshall brother-in-law Robert E. Bruner and her long time friend Patricia Minor. She will be cherished and remembered by her family: brothers and sisters-in-law: Jack and Judy Spurr II of Clanton, Ala., Richard and Vicky Spurr of Ozark, Nancy Spurr of Conway, David and Cheryl Spurr of Bryant, Limuel and Letsy Bruner of Little Rock and Nita Bruner of Magnolia, Texas; her three children: Lisa and David Ballou, Gina and Matt Rickford all of Bryant and Jerry and Alyson Bruner Jr. of Fayetteville; nine grandchildren: Erin and Josh Doddridge, Ryne and Jessica Ballou, Derek Ballou, Wesley and Kristina Marshall, Shelby Rickford, Tanner and Kari Marshall , Cameron Bruner, Ryan Rickford and Cate Bruner; four great-grandchildren: Jackson and Nicholas Doddridge, Charlotte Ballou and Weston Marshall along with all of her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral Service, officiated by Pastor Max Pyron, will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills with burial to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
