Bonnie McClung Herron

Bonnie McClung Herron, 80, of Sheridan, Ark. passed away on June 23, 2015. She was born on August 19, 1934 in Grant Co. to the late Ocie J. and Alma Atchley McClung. She was preceded in death by her brother R.A. McClung, sisters Louise Gilbert and Wanda Hicks and nieces: Jodell Gartman Pitts, Martha Gartman Bailey, Paula Gartman and Kara Gilbert Snowden. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Troy Gene Herron, two daughters and one son. Daughter, Sherry, and husband Ken McRae, grandson, Matthew Graves, granddaughter, Colin and husband Guy Mitchell, great-grandchildren, Madeline, Guy and Leslie. Daughter, Jeanie and husband Mike Williams, Granddaughter Amanda Guerin and great-grandchildren, Ella and Max. Son, Scott and wife Michelle Herron, granddaughter, Laura and husband Scott Hilburn, great-granddaughter, Annaleigh and Grandson Dylan Herron. She is also survived by one sister, Glyndell Gartman and a host of nieces and nephews. Bonnie graduated from Sheridan High School in 1953 then moved to Little Rock where she worked for The Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. and met Troy, her future husband. They were married in Greenville, MS in 1954 and later settled in Sheridan, where they raised their family and together established Herron Concrete Products. They retired to Hot Springs in 1999, enjoyed traveling and family time at the lake, then returned to Sheridan in recent years. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at New Hope Cemetery in Sheridan. There will be no public visitation.
