JEFFERSON DAVIS PIERCE JR., 88, of Jacksonville, joined his Lord in Heaven on June 26. He was born on March 4, 1927 in Bee Branch, Ark. to the late Ruby Ann (Bivens) Pierce and Jefferson Davis Pierce Sr. He lived on a farm until he was 16 and then was a store clerk for two years before joining the Marines at age 18. He was in the Marines for two years and then served in the reserves. He came back to Little Rock where he met and married Lois Johnson in 1950. He was called upon and served in Korea for two years. Jeff was a member of the North Jacksonville Missionary Baptist Church. Along with his parents, Jeff is preceded in death by his first wife, Lois; his second wife, Vivian; and son, William "Billy" Pierce. He is survived by his two sisters, Coleen "Jettie" (Pierce) Selvig and Dorothy Leila (Grissom) Marshall; two daughters, Donna Castle and Joanna Dorcheus; two grandchildren, Chase Pierce and Audrey McEuen; as well as three great-grandchidren. Funeral service will be Monday, June 29 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with Bro. Lyndon Whitledge officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
