Kenneth W. Davis, age 89, of Camden, Ark. died Sunday, June 28, 2015 at the Ouachita County Medical Center. He was born April 12, 1926 in Paris, Ark. to Clarence and Dove E. Titsworth Davis. He was the past president of the Camden Historical Society, past post commander of the VFW Post #4554, American Legion Post #0045, volunteer instructor at the Camden Vocational School, volunteer fireman, and Chamber of Commerce "Man of the Year". He was member of the First Presbyterian and a lay minister at Tate's Bluff Presbyterian Church. He was a retired plumber with Ken Davis Plumbing Co. and a World War II Air Force Veteran. He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Verna Davis; children, son, Jerel Davis and wife, Greta of Camden, Ark.; two daughters, Jean Zopolos and husband, John of Conway, Ark. and Paula Byrns and husband, Mike of Hensley, Ark.; one brother, Kent Davis of Haywood, Calif.; sister-in-law, Lucy Davis of Booneville, Ark.; four grandsons, two granddaughters; two great-granddaughters; one great-grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Kenneth Michael Davis; four brothers, Burl Davis, Earl Davis, Newton Davis, John Davis and two sisters, Lillian Rice and Lila Dee Ezell. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Proctor Funeral Home with burial in Lakeside Cemetery. Rev. Erin Kaye will officiate the service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
