Ruby Carter Willis

Ruby M. Cloud Carter Willis, age 96, of Cabot, formerly of Benton, passed away as a resident of Des Arc Nursing and Rehab Center on Sunday, March 1, 2015. She was born July 21, 1918 in Humnoke, Arkansas to the late John Arthur and Elizabeth Cloud. Ruby was raised on the farm and after marriage, she moved to Little Rock to begin her working years. She worked in the Pharmacy at the old Walgreen Drug Store on 5th and Main and eventually went to work for the State of Arkansas where she retired from the Motor Fuel Division in 1977. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Joe E. Carter and Charles Willis; four brothers, Cecil Cloud, Tommy Cloud, John Arthur Cloud Jr. and Willie Cloud and a sister, Lillian Robinson. She is survived by three adult children, Billy Joe Carter (Sally) of Roseville, Ohio, C.D. Carter (Lorena) and Richard A. Carter (Eloise) all of Cabot; thirteen grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Ruby loved growing flowers & gardening, vacationing on land & sea and greatly enjoyed her independence. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 3 at Ashby Funeral Home with services beginning at 11 a.m. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at Flynn Cemetery in Humnoke, Arkansas.
