Wanda Jean Lankford Scruggs

Wanda Jean Lankford Scruggs, 89, of Pine Bluff, died Saturday, February 28, 2015. She was born October 13, 1925 in England, Arkansas, to James S. Nelson Lankford and Georgia Hillis Lankford. Mrs. Scruggs was reared and received her early education in Wabbaseka, graduating from Wabbaseka High School. She attended college in Tyler, Texas. She married Grover Scruggs April 19, 1946. Mrs. Scruggs was primarily a member of First United Methodist Church in Pine Bluff. She was also an active member of the Alethea Club and Bess Jenkins Club. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Survivors include three sons, Grover Scruggs, Jr. of Houston, Texas, George Scott Scruggs of Little Rock and Richard Burns Scruggs of Pine Bluff; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 4, 2015 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Fred Arnold and Reverend Mike Morey officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until service time at Robinson's.
