William Elmer "Bill" Davis

William Elmer "Bill" Davis, 92, of Alma, passed away Sunday March 1, 2015 in Fort Smith. He was born December 18, 1922 in Fort Smith to the late William and Flora Ogden Davis. He was retired from AOG after 36 years as Chief Accountant and Vice President; was an ordained minister; and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first and second wives, Jerrye Davis and Clara Davis; two sisters, Gladys Edmondson, and Ann Peoples; and two brothers, Charles and Walter Davis. He is survived by a daughter, Lea "Muffett" Davis of Alma; a son, Bill Davis of Benton, Ark.; a sister, Grace Schaberg of Chanute, Kan.; and a granddaughter, Ashley Jordan Davis. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Forest Park Cemetery in Fort Smith with Military Honors, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, Ark. Pallbearers will be Scott Reinschmiedt, Douglas B. Crippen, Gary O'Kelly, Doug Garcia, Rusty Peoples, and Paul Nigh. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Brisco, Jim Peoples, and Jr. Peters. The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, Ark.
