Gertrude L. Pitcock

Gertrude L. "Granny" (Dodson) Pitcock, age 98, of Benton, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015. She was born May 27, 1916 to the late John W. and Melissa (Ernest) Dodson in Lonsdale, Arkansas. Granny kept many children throughout her years as a resident of Saline County and had retired from Munsey Products in Little Rock. She was a member of Highland Heights Baptist Church in Benton and loved to quilt, crochet, and make jewelry. She was also very active in her church's nursery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Pitcock, one infant son, and her eight siblings. She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Bennett of Bryant and Karon Brubaker (Peter) of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren, Lara Brubaker (Scott Fergusson), Brian Sweeney (Jamie), Beverly Domerese, and Bruce Sweeney; five great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (501-315-4047) with Bro. Brian Moore and Bro. Bob Stuckey officiating.
