Gloria June (Jones) Bobb

Gloria June (Jones) Bobb, 87, passed away on February 27, 2015, at the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark., during a heart procedure. Born on December 27, 1927, in Enid, Okla., she was the daughter of Garnard Lee Jones and Iva Opal Wilson. Gloria graduated high school from Ponca City, Okla., and attended college at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., and Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Okla., before moving to Kansas City, Mo. to attend flight attendant's school. It was there that she met and married Chandler ("Jack") Eggleston in 1947. They lived in Ponca City, working at Jones Grocery, her family's neighborhood store, and had four sons. Gloria lived in Coffeyville, Kan. and Independence, Kan. before meeting and marrying Norman Bobb in 1980. They retired and moved to Bella Vista, Ark. in 1981, where they resided at the time of her death. She was active in her church, Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, serving as a Deacon, frequent usher, member of Presbyterian Circle, and a care provider in the nursery. Gloria had also volunteered with her husband through the American Red Cross, responding to 29 national disasters, including New York City during 9/11. She also played bridge regularly, walked and researched genealogy. Gloria loved many things - a cup of coffee, doing laundry, watching movies and playing games - but mainly she loved her family and friends. She often traveled to see her kids and grandkids, and had an adventurous and joyful spirit. Survivors include her husband, Norman Bobb, her three sons and daughter-in-laws: Jack (Loretta) Eggleston of Denver, Colo.; Tim (Linda) Eggleston of Roswell, Ga.; and Mike (Jill) Eggleston of Leawood, Kan. Her surviving family also includes four step-children and their spouses: Margaret Osburn of Magnolia, Texas; Howard (Saehi) Bobb of Okinawa, Japan; Dwayne Bobb of Goodman, MO; and John (Lesley) Bobb of Keller, Texas. Grandchildren include: Jason Eggleston, Breean Hail, Hannah Eggleston, Elizabeth Eggleston, Cindy Martin, Dena Bell, Angie Kirkpatrick, Heather Mosier, Dustin Osburn, Tracy Osburn, Valary Bobb, Jaime Hatfield, Jennifer Drosos, and Kristina Bobb. Gloria had 16 great-grandchildren. Gloria is predeceased by her brother, Garnard Lee Jones Jr., and her eldest son, Robert Eggleston, who died at age 10 from Leukemia. Services will be held on Saturday, March 7, at 11 a.m., at the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista ("PCBV"), 1880 Forest Hills Blvd, Bella Vista, Ark. 72715. The family suggests donations to PCBV, in lieu of flowers.
