Mary Alice May

Mary Alice May, loyal servant of God passed from this life to her heavenly home, March 3, 2015 at age 98. She was born September 17, 1916 in Prescott, Ark. She is preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Naomi Coleman; her husband, Earl May; brothers, Otis, Hal, Theron, Johnny, and Harry Coleman. She is survived by her son, Jack (Linda) May of McGehee, Ark.; daughter, Jill Lawhon of Little Rock, Ark.; sister, Ruth Rowan of Little Rock, Ark.; five grandchildren, Laurie, Lance, Landon, Heather, and Holly; and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. May was employed many years by the Desha County Tax Assessor and McGehee Bank. She played the piano at Arkansas City Baptist Church for 65 years. Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Friday, March 6, 2015 at Arkansas City Baptist Church in Arkansas City, AR with Rev. Jody Gannaway and Rev. Gene Gregory officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. before the service at the church. Burial will be at McGehee Cemetery in McGehee, Ark.
