John A. "Johnny" Walker

John A. "Johnny" Walker, a native of Eudora, Ark. and resident of Baton Rouge, La. Johnny passed away at his home on Sunday, January, 25, 2015 surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was 83 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and attained the rank of sergeant. He is survived by his wife, the same beautiful, Christian lady of 63 years, Elizabeth P. Walker; daughter, Karen Ann Pierson and husband Jim; son, Kelly S. Walker and wife Julie; sister, Rebecca Ginger; and brothers, Russell and Victor Mathis. Johnny is retired from Cargo Carriers, a division of Cargill Grain, and was a member of Istrouma Baptist Church. Johnny was a Christian man who believed that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and our Lord and Savior, and that only thru believing in Him can you have eternal life. Thanks to Bobbie Cotton and Kathleen Smith of Bridgeway Hospice for their loving care. Visitation will be at Istrouma Baptist Church on Saturday, March 7, 2015, from 10 a.m. until memorial services and celebration of his life at 11 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Ron Lambe.
