Virginia A. Johnson

Virginia A. Johnson, 91, died March 2, 2015 at Bradford House in Bentonville, Ark. Mrs. Johnson was born near Dumas, Arkansas, May 2, 1923. She was the second daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jim Campbell Sr. She lived in California for several years and worked at Norton Air Force Base. She enjoyed her position as a payroll clerk. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Johnson, her brother, James Campbell Jr. and her two sisters, Betty Sanderson and Merle Trussell. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer White of Albuquerque, New Mexico and her son and his wife, Bill and Cindy Johnson of Bentonville, Ark. She was very proud of her grandchildren, two grandsons; Blake Johnson of Denver, Colo. and Matthew White of Honolulu, Hawaii and three granddaughters; Amanda Swafford (Greg) of Lewisville, Texas, JaNetta Gibbs (Loren) of Elkins, Ark. and Loni Hill of Denver, Colo. She loved her two great-granddaughters, Madison and Sophie Swafford. She also leaves behind four sisters, Rosemary Glover (Roy) of North Little Rock, Ark., Nancy Sue Wallace of Cherry Valley, Calilf., Helen Leftwich of McGehee, Ark. and Kitty Glover of Dumas, Ark. and several nieces and nephews. There was a visitation, Friday, March 6, 2015 at Griffin Funeral Home in Dumas from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2015 in the chapel at Griffin Funeral Home. Burial will be at Walnut Lake Cemetery at Pickens, Ark. Her family would like to thank the nursing staff at Bradford House for their loving care over the last six years.
