Bill Ernest Elliott

Bill Ernest Elliott, 86, of Lake Village, died Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Chicot Memorial Medical Center in Lake Village, Ark. He was born Sept. 30, 1928 in Dallas, Texas. He was the son of the Jack Hillard Elliott and Lola Lee Elliott. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Hillard Elliot Jr of St. Louis, Mo. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1945 and continued his education at Texas Christian University. While there, he played football for TCU and met his wife of many years, Patricia Ann Myatt. Upon their marriage, they moved to Lake Village, and he became President and Director of Arkansas Land & Cattle Co. His many involvements in local, as well as state, committees were: Elder and member of First Presbyterian Church, President and member of the Lakeside School Board, member of the State ASCS Committee, the Racing Commission, and a longtime member of the McGehee Bank Board. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Myatt Elliott; two sons, Bill E. Elliott (Cindy) and Bruce Elliott (Haley) both of Lake Village; three daughters, Sharron Crow (Glenn) of Winchester, Mary Leigh Burnette (David) of Jonesboro, and Beverly Bradshaw (Ken) of Monticello. He was blessed to have 13 grandchildren-Billy, Ryan, and Bobby Elliott, sons of Bill and Cindy; Jesse Elliott and Colby Salazar, sons of Bruce and Haley Elliott; Nelson Crow, Stephanie McDonald, and Trisha Schmitt, children of Sharon and Glen Crow; Anna Martar, Elliott Berkemeyer, and Kathleen Burnette, children of Mary Leigh and David Burnette; and Rebekah Ayecock and Caitlyn Sibley, daughters of Beverly and Ken Bradshaw; along with 14 great-grandchildren and a host of friends. A private burial is to be held Monday, March 9, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Celebration of Life Service following at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Village. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Village. Arrangements are by Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village.
