Lois Frances Threadgill Brown

Lois Frances Threadgill Brown, 95, resident of Bryant, Ark., formerly of Camden, Ark., died March 5, 2015. She was born Jan. 27, 1920 in Camden, Ark. to Edgar and Myra Threadgill. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church where she had retired as church secretary. Before moving from Camden, she enjoyed playing in a bridge club, church activities and visiting with many friends. She was also a volunteer for many years with the Ouachita County Hospital Auxiliary. She graduated from Camden High School where she won many awards as an accomplished pianist. She attended the University of Arkansas, Arkansas State Teachers College and graduated from Draghan's Business School. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband of nearly 60 years, Raymond H. Brown; and an infant daughter. She is survived by a daughter, Myra Harris (Rod) of Little Rock, Ark.; two grandchildren, Susan Jones (Jeff) of Ft. Smith, Ark. and Scott Harris (Carol) of Springdale, Ark.; and four great-grandchildren, Emily Jones, Abbie Jones, Will Harris and Ava Harris. The family would like to thank the staff of Foxridge of Bryant and Gentiva Hospice for the wonderful and loving care they gave to mother. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2015 at Proctor Funeral Home followed by interment at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 10-11 Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Camden, 313 Greening Street, Camden, Ark. or Gentiva Hospice Foundation, 7801 Mesquite Bend Road, Suite 105, Irving, Texas 75063.
