Elizabeth Ann Banister Bayliss 92, formerly of McGehee, AR died March 6, 2015 in Hot Springs, Ark. She was born, April 14, 1922 in Gould, Arkansas to the late Coval Norton Banister and Lillian Cholista Butcher Banister. "Sis" as she was known; was a telephone operator for many years and later retired from Southwestern Bell. She loved and cherished the time spent with family and friends and she always looked forward to holiday gatherings when all of her children and grandchildren surrounded her. Sis was a wonderful seamstress and spent many hours sewing for her girls. She loved her dogs, April and Toodles, and she loved the Razorbacks. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Mercer "Flea" Bayliss; her parents, two brothers and one sister. She is survived by daughters Cholista Price (Butch) of Cabot, Ark., Babs Hardwick (Harold) of Hot Springs, Ark., Joy Moseley (Charles) of Conway, Ark., and Kim Bayliss of North Little Rock, Ark.; Sister, Joann Norton of Springfield, Missouri; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday March, 11 at McGehee Cemetery with pastor, Justin Wendel officiating. A Memorial Gathering will follow at 2:00 p.m. at McGehee First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Both home going celebrations are open to family and friends. Pallbearers are Tony Price, Brad Hardwick, Shawn Dean, Chris Moseley, Win Moseley, Andy Echlin and Sam Echlin. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any of the following: Arkansas Hospice Foundation, 14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, Ark. 72116; American Heart Association, 902 W 2nd, Little Rock, Ark. 72201; First Baptist Church, 312 Seamans Drive, McGehee, Ark. 71654.
