Ira Donal Wood

Ira Donal Wood, age 86, of Springdale, Arkansas, passed away on March 9, 2015 in Springdale. He was born October 8, 1928, in Cleburne, Texas, the son of Ira Thadios and Dona Pearcy Wood. Mr. Wood was of the Baptist faith and had worked in public relations for the banking industry. He had served in the U.S. Navy and enjoyed assembling models in connection with fire fighting, researching the history of the Santa Fe Railroad, had a deep passion about broadcasting and the early days of radio, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Katharina Wood, of the home; two daughters: Erika Willis of Springdale and Ingrid Ramm and her husband, Mike, of Springdale; four grandchildren: Parker Willis, Claire Willis, Katarina Ramm and Jackson Ramm. An informal gathering of friends and family to celebrate the life of Mr. Wood will be held, Sunday, March 15, 2015, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at 4662 Stonecrest Circle, Springdale, Arkansas.
