Jackie Glen Brent, 78, of Fordyce died Monday March 9, 2015 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Born December 2, 1936, he was the son of the late Glen Brent and Edna Kauffman Cook. He was owner and operator of Farindale, Inc. for 37 years and a member of Fordyce First United Methodist Church. He was very active in the community and surrounding area, being in the A-Z Investment Club, a member of the board of directors at Regions Bank and Grant County Savings & Loan, and serving as a Fordyce City Alderman. He enjoyed fishing and turkey hunting. He was a loving father, father-in-law, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Sue Brent. He is survived by his sons, Clark Brent and wife Penny of Fordyce, Stuart Brent and wife Debra of Benton; grandchildren, Jack Brent of Fordyce, Hayden and Ryan Brent of Benton; brother-in-law, Larry Guynn of Maumelle; and dear friend, Annette Freer of Ivan. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Fordyce with Dusty Rhodes and Rev. Bill Cato officiating. Burial will follow at Stoney Point Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Fordyce. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
