Janeth (Jan) Colson Durham

Janeth (Jan) Colson Durham, 76, died peacefully on March 9, 2015. She was born on July 4, 1938 in Oak Ridge, La. to the late James and Josie Colson. Jan was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Martha Sue Morman. She was a member of the Ridge Avenue Church in West Monroe, La. and loved attending Immanuel Baptist when her health allowed. Jan worked in the insurance business for many years beginning in the early 80's with Atkins Insurance and continuing through retirement with Marsh and McLennan. Jan adored her close-knit family, her husband of 53 years and three daughters. Her daughters were blessed with a mother who loved unconditionally and demonstrated a life well lived. She is survived by her husband, Rodney (Max) Durham; daughter, Lisa Hocutt (Mike); daughter, Rhonda Durham and daughter, Vicki Durham all of Little Rock and sister, Elsie Stanley, many nieces and nephews and other relatives. The family would like to thank Elizabeth (Beth) Croston for her wonderful caregiving and Dr. Mariann Harrington and the amazing staff at LRHO for their caring of her so lovingly for the past three years and Baptist Hospice and Parkway Health Center in these final few weeks. A private family graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m., at Forest Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be at 11 a.m., Friday, March 13, 2015, prior to the service at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home 13801 Chenal Parkway Little Rock, Ark. (501) 224-8300.
