MAJ. GEORGE O. JACKSON (Ret. U.S. Army), age 94, of North Little Rock, passed away, Monday, March 9, 2015. George was born on Feb. 12, 1921, to the late John F. and Janie Hooten Jackson in Quitman, Ark. He had top secret clearance in the Courier Service at NATO while serving as an Army officer stationed in Paris. After returning from overseas duty and settling in Arkansas, he enjoyed taking road trips to Eureka Springs with his wife and children. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Pearl Jackson; one brother; one sister; and one grandson, Colin Andrew Couch. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike Jackson (Linda) of Maumelle and Lee Jackson and Dori Stegman of Santa Monica, Calif.; one daughter, Barbara Jackson of Sherwood; four grandchildren, Josh, Jeremy, and Bailey Couch and Blythe Allen; one great-granddaughter, Isabell Rae Gordon; and one brother, Othar Jackson. He is also survived by a host of other friends and family. A graveside service will be held at 12 p.m.,Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
