William James McClanahan, Sr., 87, of England, Arkansas went to be with the Lord Friday, March 20, 2015. He was born in England, Arkansas June 8, 1927 to George William McClanahan and Blanche Portis McClanahan. He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving and devoted wife of over fifty years: Dolly and a daughter: Jane McClanahan. He is survived by one son: Jim McClanahan, Jr.; two grandchildren: Katelyn Loftis (Daniel) of Scott, Arkansas and Kandice McClanahan; Janice and Ted Dumas and family of Dallas, Texas; Gloria Lane of Little Rock; Ben Burgess who was special to the McClanahan family; also many nieces and nephews. William owned McClanahan Electric. He was a Navy Veteran serving in WWII, he was owner and operator of McClanahan Farms, he was a member of the American Legion, and was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church where he served in many capacities as long as he was able. Funeral services will be Sunday, March 22, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the Roller England Funeral Home Chapel (501) 842-3939. Private burial will follow in the Tomberlin Cemetery, Coy, Arkansas.
