Marguerite "Maggie" Armstrong Whitten, 87, slipped into the arms of Jesus on March 25, 2015. A celebration quickly followed as she was reunited with her husband, daughter, family and friends. She was born on June 4, 1927 to the late Helen Nickles and James Armstrong. She was preceded in death by her husband and high school sweetheart, James Robert "Doc" Whitten, her daughter Carol Christine "Chris" Whitten Fisher and sisters, Lucille Armstrong Gunsaulis and Jeanette Armstrong Batisto. Maggie loved life and lived it to the fullest. She graduated from North Little Rock High School and later obtained her real estate license. She worked and earned many awards in the real estate business until age 77. Maggie was one of the original "Golden Girls", a group of real estate ladies that celebrate birthdays, holidays and other special days together. Maggie is survived by her son, Jim Whitten (Jan) and sister, Ruth Armstrong Farris. Hone, as she was affectionately called by her five grandchildren: John Trice, Betsy Trice Meacham (Allen), Misse Kaplon, Ryan Whitten (Erin), Kevin Whitten (Ashley) and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, March 27 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Rd., North Little Rock from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, 10 a.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills with Rev.
