George Evatt

George Evatt passed away on Wednesday March 25, 2015 at age 91. He was born in Vilonia on July 12, 1923 to the late John and Savannah Evatt. He is also preceded in death by his first wife Nadean Evatt, brother Lee Owen Evatt and sister Grace Reed. Survivors include wife, Joanne Evatt; children, Kenny Evatt and Dee Ann Sneed (Sam) of Conway, John Evatt (Tasha) of Shawnee, Kansas, Nancy Barham (Jack) of Corpus Christi, Texas and Bob Barham (Betsey) of Conway; sisters, Inez Coker of Vilonia and Clara Baker of Conway; brother, Leroy Evatt (Uvie) of Little Rock. Grandchildren include Elizabeth Evatt, Brad Hartwick (Kelly), Brian Hartwick (Heather), Jared Evatt (Amanda), Kailee Evatt, Brandon Barham, Mallory Barham, and five great-grandchildren. George served in the US Navy aboard the USS Ludlow during WWII. After being honorably discharged in 1946, he began his career at Ward Body Works where he worked for 38 years, retiring in 1984 as Purchasing Director. Service is 1 p.m. on Monday, 3/30/2015 at Conway First Church of the Nazarene with visitation following. Burial at 3:30 p.m. at Vilonia Cemetery.
