Mair Francis

MAIR FRANCIS, of Jacksonville, died peacefully in Little Rock, Ark. on March 24, 2015 at the age of 87. Mair is survived by her husband, Joseph Francis; her children, Jane Laycook and her husband, Robert, Garry January and Anne Woolf; her siblings, George Davies and John and his wife, Marcella, Davies; her grandchildren, John Woolf and his wife, Maggie, Lindsay Woolf, Kaitlyn January and her fiance, Richard Cook and Rachel January; her great-grandchildren, Peyton and Jacob Cook, Elizabeth Woolf and Kiera Kirtley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gwilym Davies and Esther Ann Davies; her siblings, Morris, Raymond, Peggy Saunders, Martha "Mattie" Daniels and Rachel Condon; and her grandson, Dennis Kennedy. Mair was born April 2, 1927 in Llanelli, South Wales. She grew up in South Wales and moved to the United States in 1957. She enjoyed bowling at LRAFB. In the 1970's, she was an Avon lady in Jacksonville, Arkansas. Mair worked at the Base Exchange at LRAFB for over 20 years. She loved to visit her family in Wales and cherished her family. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2015 at Rest Hills Memorial Park, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, Ark. 72216. The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice Home Care for the wonderful care they provided to Mair. Memorials may be made to the Jacksonville Humane Society.
