Kenneth L. Rollins, 71, of Jacksonville, passed away on April 30, 2015. He was born on April 16, 1944 in Heber Springs, Arkansas to the late Joe Crockett and Jewell (Miller) Rollins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Rollins, two sisters, Joyce Flowers and Daphine Moreland. Ken retired from the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers after 43 years of service. Starting as a field technician, he grew to be a key member of a division with responsibility for the management of state water flow that is overseen by the Corps. At the Corps, Ken developed a strong work ethic that remained throughout his career. Those values led to a deep feeling regarding the worth of education that he instilled in his children – both of whom are well educated professional educators. Retirement's change brought Ken a slower pace which led to even more time to critique the Razorbacks. Ken was such an avid fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks that he spent part of his and Judy's honeymoon attending the 1969 Red/White game. In the midst of his retirement, a four-legged friend and companion, Duke, was acquired as a rescue Golden Retriever. Another portion of that slower pace went to the opportunity to spend more time utilizing the Consumer Reports in making purchase decisions. He was a life-long Christian and attended McArthur Assembly of God Church through decades of growth. He had a particular fascination with gospel music with his primary focus on the Gaither Vocal Band. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Judy (Watkins) Rollins; one son, Rob Rollins (Natalie); one daughter, Beth Davis (Scott); one beloved granddaughter, Kourtney Hudson; step-grandchildren, Ariel and Brittney Davis; one sister, Billie Jo Moore (Don); nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2015 at McArthur Assembly of God Church of Jacksonville with Pastor Marc Bateman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Entombment will follow in Chapel Pines Mausoleum. Arrangements by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home and Crematory, 1504 Loop Road, Jacksonville, Arkansas. (501) 982-2136.
