Billy Vurl Belt

Billy Vurl Belt, 71, of Fayetteville, died Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Washington Regional Medical Center. He was born February 20, 1944 in Ozark to Roy Melvin and Mattie Beatrice Nichols Belt. Billy served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and truly loved life. He was preceded in death by two children, Daniel Ray Belt and James Michael Belt, two brothers, Luke Belt and Tommy Belt, and two sisters, Crete Belt and Leona Cowan. He is survived by his wife, Jeanie (Frazier) Belt whom he married on August 4, 1986 in Fayetteville; five children, Craig Belt and Carl Belt both of Fayetteville, Billy Woods, Edwards Woods and Michelle Dourshlag all of Missouri; three brothers, Lester Belt and wife Sue of Ozark, Leroy Belt of Greenland, Larry Belt and wife Phyllis of Lowell; two sisters, Dolly Green of Oklahoma City, and his twin, Betty Leslie of Kiota, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be Monday, May 4, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at noon at Fayetteville National Cemetery.
