Imogene Wilkins Lane, 97, of Rogers went to be with the Lord May 1, 2015. She was born December 12, 1917 in Locust Grove, Okla., the daughter of George and Alice Wilkins. Her mother died when she was 1-1/2 years old and was raised by her aunt, Anna Johnson and husband Virgil. She graduated from Rogers High School in 1936; then married Verlie C. Lane in 1938. They moved to Hobbs, N.M. for 8 years, returning to Rogers in 1946. They owned Lane Barber Shop on West Walnut until 1991. Imogene was a member of First Baptist Church, Rogers, for 72 years where she taught 4 and 5 year olds for 35 years. She was a homemaker and seamstress while being a loving wife and mother. Imogene is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years. She is survived by two daughters, Janice Moore of Rogers and Jackee (Terry) Eaton of Springdale; six grandchildren, Bill Moore of Rogers, Steve (Lea) Moore and Robbie (Jennifer) Moore of Hot Springs; Angela (Jeff) Lindsey of Ft. Worth; Andrea (Darryl) Muldoon of Bella Vista and Annesa (Larry) Wilkins of Decatur; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Rogers-Olive St. Campus, 8th and Olive St. Funeral will be at 3 p.m., Tuesday also at the Church. Interment will follow in Rogers Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to The Gideons International, PO Box 140800, Nashville, Tenn. 37214-0800.
