Andy L Hughes, 90, went to be with his Lord on Monday, May 4, 2015. He was born Sept. 5, 1924 in Whelen Springs, Arkansas, son of the late James Hardy and Dovie (Davis) Hughes. He was a carpenter, farmer and retired employee of Baptist Health Medical Center. He was a member of Third Street Baptist Church. Andy was preceded in death by his parents, 10 brothers and five sisters, son (baby Andrew), great-grandson, (baby Matthew) and son-in-law, Billy Joe Selby. Andy (Gramps) leaves behind his wife of 73 years, Frances Jane nee′ Bolt (BigMom) whom he cherished, and his beloved children: Wanza (Butch) Heard of Arkadelphia; Gwen (Frank) Lollar of Shreveport, Louisiana; Terry (Vicki) Hughes of Gurdon and Susie (Jerry) Cox of Bismarck; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, brothers: Charles (Phyllis) Hughes, Floyd (Wana) Hughes and sister, Bee Ogle. Visitation will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 7th at Third Street Baptist Church in Arkadelphia. Services, officiated by Bro. Kenny Beaver and Bro. Greg Lathem, will follow at 3 p.m. Interment by Pharr Funeral Home will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, located in the Sycamore community. The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Hospice Home Care, Courtyard Gardens and Area Agency on Aging.
