Jordan Harold Culwell

Jordan "Harold" Culwell, 91, died peacefully from this life Wednesday, May 6, at Legacy Village, in Bentonville, Ark. Harold was born Nov. 30, 1923, in Goshen, Ark., to James Lee and Hazel Clark Culwell. He was the oldest of three children. He graduated from Huntsville State Vocational School in 1941, served in the US Navy in the South Pacific during WWII, and retired from the US Postal Service in Bethany, Okla., in 1985 as a letter carrier. He moved back to Arkansas in 1996. He is survived by his wife, Zoe Brady Culwell; one daughter, Beverly Culwell Block, and husband, Ken, of Joplin, Mo. He is also survived by his niece, Nancy Mix Buckin and husband, Fred, of Norman, Okla.; his sister-in-law, Betty Culwell, and her children, Debra Culwell Atkinson, and husband, Craig, James Culwell, all of Houston, Texas; his step-son, Brady Shuler, and wife, Shalene, their sons, Ethan and Blaine, of Edmond, Okla.; cousins, Ruby Gerick, David Clark, and Arthur Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy Reed Culwell; his brother, Fred Culwell; and sister, Betty Jane Culwell Mix. He was a member of the Bella Vista Church of Christ. He loved the Church, family, gardening, cooking, fishing and travel. A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Bella Vista Church of Christ with a memorial service to be following at 2 p.m. Burial in Ada, Okla.
