Dr. Lynn Lisk, 54, of Fort Smith, Ark., passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2015 in his home. He was the Director for the Paralegal Studies Program at The University of Arkansas Fort Smith, the first program in the state to receive American Bar Association approval. Previously, Lisk was a practicing attorney in the Little Rock area. He also served as a law clerk for both the Arkansas Supreme Court and the Arkansas Workers Compensation Commission. In 1998, he was named one of the Best Lawyers in Arkansas in a survey conducted by the Arkansas Times. He served on the Arkansas Supreme Court's Committee on Continuing Legal Education and was the former Chairman of the Arkansas Supreme Court's Ethics Committee. Dr. Lisk was born on Aug. 13, 1960 in Dallas,Texas to the Reverend Dr. Richard and Joanne Lisk. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Ouachita Baptist University. He also held a Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock's William H. Bowen School of Law. Dr. Lisk was preceded in death by his father, the Reverend Dr. Richard Lisk and one sister, Nietta Lisk. He is survived by his wife, Ann; two sons, Samuel and Solomon Lisk and his mother, Joanne Lisk-Golden all of Fort Smith; and his brother, Rick Lisk of North Little Rock, Ark. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 13, 2014 at Community Bible Church at 9201 Dallas Street in Fort Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lynn Lisk Memorial Fund for his children through Arvest Bank Rye Hill Branch Fort Smith, Ark.
