Virginia "Ginny" Shackelford

Virginia "Ginny" Shackelford, age 94, of Fayetteville, passed away Friday, May 8, 2015. She was born July 19, 1920 in Winslow, Ark. to Spencer and Clyde Osburn Adams. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Doyle Clay Shackelford of Hazel Valley. She was a longtime member of Mount Comfort Church of Christ in Fayetteville. She is survived by her daughter, Betty Shackelford of Elkins; one son, Butch Shackelford and his wife, Holly of Fayetteville; brother, Bob Adams of Wyola, Ark.; stepbrother, Ray Mills of Fayetteville; two sisters-in-law, Lorene Adams of Fayetteville, Ark. and Lola Mills of Tulsa, Okla.; two grandchildren, Patrick Yerby and his wife, Lisa and Spencer Jett Shackelford, all of Fayetteville; great-grandchildren: Mitchell Yerby, Jacquelyn Bunton and her husband, Cody, Annabelle Yerby, Billy Yerby; four stepgreat-grandchildren: Tommy, Cassie, Alex, and Sam Erickson. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday at Moore's Chapel with burial to follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville. Our lives will be slightly dimmer at the loss of Ginny's fiery personality, but we are forever grateful for the hospitality and warmth she so generously shared with us over the years.
