Ronald Gene Johns

Ronald Gene Johns of Rogers, 77, passed away May 8, 2015 at the Circle of Life Earlene Howard Hospice Home in Springdale. He was born May 28, 1937 in Belleville, Illinois to the late Wilburn and Emma (Welch) Johns. Ronnie was a meat cutter and musician. He was a graduate of Mt. Olive High School in the class of 1955 and served nine years in the United States Air Force as a clerk and in the K-9 Corps. He was a loving Husband to the late Bobbie Jean (Curtis) Johns for 54 years. Ronnie is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Margie Johns of Rogers, daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and David Melvin of Rogers, Kathy and Steve Davis of Seligman, Missouri and Jenna Johns-Cannady of Branson, Missouri; his brothers, Harold Johns of Staunton, Illinois, Gary Johns of Phoenix, Arizona, sisters, Judy Boyce of Bella Vista and Linda Jeffers of Litchfield, Illinois; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many more family members. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lester Johns of Woodriver, Illinois and sister Mary Lou Johns of Mt. Olive, Illinois. Ronnie loved spending time with his family, playing music professionally and with the church and mowing his grass. He had a big heart and was always ready to help anyone in need. Service will be held at the East Side Assembly of God in Bentonville, Arkansas Saturday May 16, 2015 at 10 a.m. with plans for a dinner to follow at his family home in Rogers for all who would like to attend.
