George Walter Mason, Sr.

George Walter Mason, age 84, of Cabot, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at his home. He was born September 29, 1930 in Conway, Arkansas to the late Charles and Susie Greene Mason. Mr. Mason served in the U.S. Navy before he began a career with the Union Pacific Railroad as a railroad electrical supervisor. George was the youngest of fourteen children. On April 27, 1951 he married Martha Ann Glover. He was an avid fisherman whose motto was "every day fishing is not deducted from your life span". Fish feared him. He is survived by his wife, Martha of the home; four children, Victoria "Vicky" Mason, Aminda Plenge, George Walter Mason Jr. and Ronald Lee Mason; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and many loving family members. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2015 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor Loyd White officiating.
