Anthony "Tony" Wade Thornton

MM1 Anthony "Tony" Wade Thornton, age 36, of Cabot, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 16, 2015. He was born in Little Rock on November 15, 1978, to Quinn and Cissy Strack Thornton. Tony served as a Machinist Mate First Class in the United States Navy serving tours in Yokosuka, Japan; Gaeta, Italy; Kings Bay, Georgia; and Camp Bucca, Iraq, aboard the ships USS Kittyhawk, USS LaSalle as well as on land. Tony was a true gentleman and was always compassionate to all he met. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, and father, who loved his family and friends, and country. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Lou and Alline Strack, and Gene Thornton. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his parents; wife, Jamie Lynn Thornton; two daughters; Carlie Ruth Thornton and Lona Bliss Thornton; sister; Amy Springer (Cody); two brothers, Phillip Thornton (Michelle), and Joe Thornton (Shannon); grandmother, Martha Thornton; niece, Avery Springer; three nephews, Kane Thornton, and Frank and Justin Garrett; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. A Rosary service will be held today, May 19, 2015 at 6 p.m., at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd, North Little Rock, AR 72116 (501-791-7400), with visitation to follow from 7-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with burial following at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, with military honors provided by the United States Navy.
