Eliizabeth Ann LaBorde

Elizabeth A. Gremillion LaBorde passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2015, at home in Little Rock at the age of 76. She is preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Reason, and stepfather, Otis Reason of Louisiana. She is survived by her husband James LaBorde of Little Rock, Ark., daughters Melinda (John) Walker and Pamela LaBorde, son Jeffrey LaBorde, two grandchildren Aaron and Kristin Walker, sisters Jeannette (Jim-deceased) Bratton and Diana (Jimmy) LaBorde, and brothers Phillip (Betsy) Reason and Clyde (Ethel-deceased) Gremillion. She was blessed with numerous and adoring nieces and nephews. She graduated from the University of Louisiana Lafayette in 1960. She worked at UAMS in the early 1960's in the Dept. of Neurology and Medicine as an immunology technician. She retired from the Ark. State Health Dept. as supervisor of the Microbiology Laboratory in 2001. She was passionate about volunteering at UAMS in the Family Resource Center which she helped to establish. She very much enjoyed making peanut brittle during the holidays for her family and friends. She was also a Eucharistic Minister at the Carmelite Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 20, at the Griffin Leggett Funeral Home, 5800 West 12th St, Little Rock, from 5-7 p.m., Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass celebrating her life will be at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 1321 S. Van Buren St, Little Rock, Ark., on Thursday, May 21, at 10 a.m. followed by internment in the Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Forest Hills Cemetery at 10200 Hwy. 5 N., Alexander, Ark.
