Angeline (Battisto) Russo, 94, passed away May 16, 2015, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Angie was born on July 14, 1920 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She attended Saint Patrick‘s parochial school and Mount Saint Mary's Academy for girls. After War World II, she married Sam Russo, restaurateur, co-owner of Tom and Andrews's restaurant. Angie and Sam shared 40 years of marriage and raised two children in Little Rock. She worked as the Executive Assistant to the President of the Arkansas Wholesale Grocers Association for 30 years. She moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2008 to be near her daughter. She resided there until her death. She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Lepera, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, her son Gil Russo, of Arlington, Texas. She had five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Farley Battisto, her husband Sam Russo, and her brothers Tom Battisto and Nick Battisto. Angie was a devout Catholic and a former parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel and Holy Souls parish. A visitation will be held Thursday, May 21, at 6 p.m. with a Rosary beginning at 7 p.m., at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be on the morning of Friday, May 22, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Church, Fr. Erik Pohlmeier as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Asbury Foundation, 700 Bower Hill Road, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15243.
