Ella Hesselbein, of Morrilton, passed away Monday, May 18, 2015. She was born in Oppelo, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Everett and Cassie Ashcraft Hendrix. Ella was an employee of Arrow Automotive Industries for 22 years until her retirement in 1996. In 1998, she became an associate for the J.C. Penney Co. in Conway for 5 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Oppelo. Many things about Ella were cherished by her family especially her love for flowers, quilting and cooking. Her homemade yeast rolls and corn, which she put up every year, will be missed at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Herbert Hesselbein of Morrilton; daughter Brenda Hight of North Little Rock; son Ray Hesselbein of Little Rock; two granddaughters, Dawnelle Fincher (Rick) of Fayetteville, and Tania Freaney of San Antonio, Texas; one great-great-granddaughter, Aliyah Jasmine; two sisters, Marie Pettingill of Morrilton, and Noma Fay Sledge of Bryant; six great-grandsons, Garrett Oden and Alex Fincher of Fayetteville, Joseph, Lucas, Trey and Logan Freaney of San Antonio, Texas, several nieces and nephews. Ella adored her two granddaughters and six great-grandsons they were often the twinkle in her eye. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Dwayne Hesselbein and sister, Lilah Vane Hendrix. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 21, at Harris Chapel with Bro. Gene Tanner officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
