Fay Dean Johnson, 57, passed from this life on May 17, 2015 at at the Fayetteville Veterans Hospital (Hero's Haven Unit). She was born on June 13, 1957 in Paris, Louisiana to Myer and Sue Hummel Woodard. Fay joined the Army in 1978 and served our country for 26 years. She was the recipient of numerous awards, medals, ribbons and badges. Fay served in the Vietnam Era and Persian Gulf War Era prior to retiring in 1994, achieving the rank of SSG. Fay is survived by her husband William Johnson; her children Thad Denzer of Kansas City, Mo., DeCarroll Bridges of Springdale, Ark., Erik Turner of Fayetteville, Ark., and Rasheda Morris and her husband Nathaniel Morris of Fayetteville, Ark.; her siblings Larry Woodard of Biloxi, Miss., Kay Burton of Springdale, Gay Yoder of Atlanta, Ga., Wanda Wyse of Benton, Ark., and Jim Cleveland of Kilgore, Texas; and 10 grandchildren. A visitation will be held 5-7 p.m., Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Westfield Chapel Funeral Home in Springdale. Funeral Service will be 10 a.m., Friday, May 22, 2015 at Westfield Chapel.
