Chloe (Methvin) Harber was born in Bruno, Arkansas, January 8, 1920, daughter of William Walter and Maude Agnes (Pyle) Methvin. She departed this life Monday, May 18, 2015, in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 95 years, 4 months and 10 days. Chloe was united in marriage to John B. Harber on June 5, 1938, at Viola, Arkansas. She was Viola Senior Center Director for 12 years, employed at Arkansas State University for 11 years, worked in Viola School Cafeteria, and was a charter-member of Viola Assembly of God. Chloe was a housewife, and a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Wood Smith of Springfield, Missouri, and Erma Ruth Wood of Little Rock, Arkansas; five grandchildren, John B. Wood (Jan), R. Harber Wood (Shelley), Ronda (Wood) Williams, Chris Wood and Alex Smith (Slothka); nine great-grandchildren, Alison Williams, Elizabeth Williams, Chloe Wood, Eli Wood, Clara Wood, Max Wood, Emmy Wood, Benjamin Smith and Zoe Smith; great-great-grandaughter, Emmalyn Forchee; many other relatives and friends. Chloe was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Harber; three sisters, Ona Keys, Ruth Sanders and Dolly Methvin; five brothers, Ulis, Ernest, Paul, Gene and Jim Methvin. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015, 1 p.m. at Viola Assembly of God in Viola, Arkansas, with Bro. Allen Cartwright officiating. Interment will be in the Viola Cemetery in Viola, Arkansas, with arrangements entrusted to Barker Funeral Home of Salem. Pallbearers are John Wood, Harber Wood, Chris Wood, Alex Smith, Eli Wood, Max Wood and Ronnie Pope. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Williams, James Hutson, Shannon Pope, Larry Pope, John Dwyer and David Methvin. Guests may sign online guest book at barkerfuneral.com.
