Caroline Marie Helmich

Caroline Marie Helmich, went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 87 on Thursday, May 21, 2015 in Hot Springs, Ark. She was born on December 17, 1927 in Little Rock, the daughter of Jack Funk and Ella Green Funk. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Helmich; her parents; and one sister, Wanda Funk. Caroline was a lifelong Lutheran and a member of First Lutheran Church in Little Rock. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, gardening and caring for her family. Caroline loved The Lord, her family and her dogs. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Jane Helmich of Destin, Fla.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kay Helmich of Hot Springs and Lisa and Stan West of Little Rock; five grandchildren, Tom and Amy Helmich, Amy and Rich Wilson, Christy and Danny Copley, Missy and Brady Varnell and Jamie and Dustin Gilmore; nine great-grandchildren, Curran Helmich, Marin Helmich, Connor Helmich, Payton Knight, Noelle Copley, Nicholas Copley, Spencer Varnell, Talan Varnell and Eli Gilmore; and her best friend, Jeanie Shimek of Little Rock. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. in the Luther Building at the church immediately followed by the service at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 30, 2015 in the First Lutheran Church in Little Rock with Pastor Jonathon Beyer officiating and Pastor Bacic assisting. Interment will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
