Bruce Ernest (Ernie) Colbert, 53, of Cabot, left this earth on May 22, 2015 to go fishing in Heaven with his parents and two brothers, Michael Colbert and Roy Lynn Colbert. Ernie was born to Willis Eugene and Alice Louise Colbert on February 3, 1962. He married Penny Barnett on January 24, 1981 with whom he had 2 children, Willis Eugene Colbert II and Kristi Weeks-Graff of Cabot. Growing up, Ernie was often found sitting around the table with his brothers putting together model cars. He worked as a paint and body man for Wilson's Body Shop for over 20 years. He loved shrimp and crawdads (he called them red bugs), mashed potato salad, sitting in his garage drinking beer (using his cold cup that he called his "beer titty"), Nascar, fishing and often came up with nicknames for friends, kids and grandkids. When Ernie's grandkids were over, they would sit in his garage with him and they would have a competition counting the Wal-Mart trucks going down the Interstate. Ernie was a unique man who had a heart of gold but was not afraid to say what was on his mind. In addition to his wife and children, Ernie is survived by three grandchildren, Adrianne Colbert of Cabot, Terry (TJ) Weeks Jr. and Trinity (Dinky) Weeks of Ward; his siblings Elizabeth Brooks (Clayton), Carolyn Carey (Gene) of Scottsburg, IN, Brenda Colbert, Deborah Cherry (Mike) of Searcy, Donald Colbert (Linda) of Monroe, La., David Colbert (Connie) of Austin, and Mary Cox (Freddie) of Ward; his beloved dogs, Tinker and Tyson, many nieces and nephews as well as multiple friends. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday May 27, 2015 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Monk Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday May 26, 2015, also at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home & Crematory (501) 843-5816.
