Marcel Leon Bertholet

MARCEL LEON BERTHOLET, age 95, passed away May 23, 2015 at Sherwood Nursing Home in Sherwood, Ark. He was born in Spa, Belgium May 18, 1920, preceded in death by his dear wife of 68 years, Jeannie, and son Roland. He is survived by his daughter Micheline (Fred) Tucker, seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He worked for the Belgium Railroad, lived and married Jeannie during the German occupation and was forced to transport railcars with German guards, some with Jewish prisoners. In 1950, he and Jeannie were converted to the Church of Christ and worked diligently with the Church and missionaries, preaching and teaching to spread the gospel. In 1964, he moved to America and continued to work for the Church as a Deacon and as maintenance supervisor for Michigan Christian College. After retiring, he continued to spread the Gospel through World Bible School in both French and English and was commended by the World Bible School in a 2009 newsletter.
