Dorothy Shelnutt

Dorothy Shelnutt, 93 of Benton, passed away May 26, 2015. She was born January 2, 1922 in Scott, Arkansas to the late Robert and Verda Robinson Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold Shelnutt, sisters, Bertha Noakes, Dimple Louallen, Oleta Standridge, Lona Balding, Bernice Sullivan and brothers, Homer and James Moore. Dorothy is survived by her sons, John Shelnutt, Travis (Polly) and Tommy (Debbie) Nelson, daughter, Cissie Little,sisters, Alice LaPlant, Jean Gault, 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Chapel services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 2 p.m. Saturday with burial to follow at New Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday at Ashbys. Family comments: Mother was an extremely hard worker. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and quilting. She had a green thumb and loved plants and flowers.
