Herbert "Gene" Kauffman

Herbert Eugene "Gene" Kauffman, 85, of Rogers, passed away on May 24, 2015. He was tough to the very end. Herbert was a local character who served many roles in the Rogers area. An avid stamp collector, he owned Ye Olde Stamp Shoppe, as well as the Dixieland Mall's Red Light Hobby Shop, and Something Sweet Candy Shop. He was also a dedicated volunteer and a longtime member of Kiwanis. He served as president of the local Board of Realtors, and was also on the board of the Rogers Parks Department. He was a proud father who raised 8 children. Survivors include children, Susan Alba, Dan Kauffman, Ron Kauffman, Robert Kauffman, Penny Masicotte, Anita Ziegler, Samuel Chacon, Pauline Chacon; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and his dog, Pepper. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lucille; and a brother, Ron. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015, in the Rollins Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to Kiwanis International at www.Kiwanis.org. Cremation arrangements are by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.
