Jewell J. Steed

Jewell J. Steed 97, formerly of Prescott Arkansas passed away to the hands of the Lord on May 23, 2015 in Binghamton, NY. Jewell lived in Binghamton New York since 2005 and was a resident of Susquehanna Nursing Home in Johnson City, N.Y. since 2011. She was born in Hart County, Ky. and was the eldest of nine children. She was predeceased by her father Cecil and mother Lillian Jefferies and her husband of 50 years Vester O. Steed of Prescott Arkansas; her brothers Garland, Charles, Garrell, Marvin, William and sisters Glenna, Elsie and Mary. She is survived by her son, Mikel Steed (Billie Jo) Lee Summit, Mo. and daughter, Mary Steed Price (Thomas) Kirkwood, N.Y.; grandchildren, Rick, Brad, Becky, Scott, Adam and five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Jewell was a faithful church member of the Central Baptist church of Prescott Arkansas for over 30 years. Jewell loved to do crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. Visitation will be held at Pharr Funeral Home of Prescott between the hours of 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. Friday May 29, 2015, graveside service will follow in Laneburg Cemetery, Prescott, Arkansas at 2:30 p.m.
