Dorothy Downey Furgal

Dorothy Downey Furgal, 94, of Bella Vista passed away May 28, 2015. She was born to Andrew and Katie (Allison) Downey in Orlando, Oklahoma. Dorothy lived in Oklahoma where she attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. She moved to Washington DC where she met and married her loving husband Gustav Furgal. They moved to Virginia then California in 1966. In 1981 they moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas. Dorothy loved her life in Bella Vista where she greatly enjoyed golfing and playing bridge. Preceded in death by her parents, wonderful husband, and six siblings; Billy, Cecil, Jim, Ruth, Elmer and Grace. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Howard) Furgal Spencer; brothers, Jack (Fern) Downey, Charles (Joan) Downey and Jo Wayne (Diana) Downey; grandson, Bill (Pomai), Spencer, and two daughters, Skyler and Cali; granddaughter, Kelly Jameson and her daughter, Celine and son, Donovan; and many cherished nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Bella Vista Community Church. Rev. Dr. John Foss will be officiating.
