James "Jay" Wray Mallory, 78, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away May 25, 2015. Jay was born February 21, 1937 in Penrod, Kentucky to Opal and Nellie Mallory. Jay brought love and joy to the lives he touched. He was kind and generous. He loved to garden, work on small engines, and raise livestock. Jay was always there to lend a helping hand any time his family, friends and neighbors needed him. He learned to cook during his time in the army and became well known for his delicious home cooked meals and canning. He was very involved in his grandchildrens lives and activities and devoted his time to his family. Jay was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Sue Wahley. Jay is survived by his long-time companion, Rachel Brown; his two children: Brenda Fitzpatrick (Chad) and James "Bud" Mallory (Renee); three grandchildren: Blaze Mallory, Holly and Clayton Fitzpatrick; and siblings: Marie Cain, Neal Mallory, Glenn Mallory and Darrell Mallory. There are no words to describe the pain of his departure. All who knew him will miss him dearly; however, his family finds comfort knowing he is home with the Lord. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Funeral Home, 5800 W. 12th St., Little Rock, Arkansas. Funeral Service will be held 12:30 p.m., Friday, May 29, 2015 at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
