Mary Ellen Russell, 84, long-time resident of Bentonville, and recently of Rogers, Ark., passed away Oct. 9. She was born May 21, 1931 in Iola, Kan. to the late Clifford Gibson White and Viola Wiyninger White. For nearly 50 years, she was the loving wife of Thomas Myron Russell who preceded her in death. Her life was one of service to others as a registered nurse at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers, being active cooking for dinners at First Presbyterian Church in Bentonville, as a member of Rotary, Eastern Star and caring for her family. She also enjoyed sewing, crochet, counted cross-stitch, quilting and Tupperware parties. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, John Gibson Russell. Survivors include her granddaughter, Lindsey Russell of Anderson, Mo. and her three great-grandchildren: Tabitha Long, Taylor Long, and Marissa Brewer. Her funeral service will be at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 3 at First Presbyterian Church in Bentonville. Interment will be in E.L. Russell Cemetery, Rusk, Texas at a later date.
